Default Does Fergie have some things to think about in the summer?

I think it's safe to say that Manchester United, on paper look scarily weak in comparison to other top flight teams.
By this I don't just mean top premiership teams, I also mean european giants aswell.
Teams of Barcalona and Real Madrid calibre have benched players that could better the Manchester United first team.

Although Manchester United are proving my point wrong at present (and being a devout fan myself I'm obviously enjoying this) I still ask questions about nexts seasons run with teams such as Mancester City hoping to better their already frightening teams with the likes of Torres.

The deperture of Ronaldo and Tevez left United noticably weaker, and when your seasons goes the way Dimitar Berbatovs has, United begin to look like a one-man team. And if my point needs any more backing, the recent injury of Rooney left Fergie picking at players that look unlikely to win games like Champions league clashes; Rooney was Injured in the First leg and missed the second. United performed well but lacked that World Class appeal that top teams look to and found they had ran out of resources after the Rafeal sending off.

So, who do you think could better Ferguson's boys?

I agree that they are weaker than other top teams, but not by much. Without Rooney they are a different team for sure, and if he wasn't in the team permanently (i.e. goes to Real in the summer) then I think next season will be tough for them to win the league.

City have more money then they know what to do with, but next seasons assault on winning the league entirely depends on whether they finish fourth this season, cos if they don't get a champions league spot it will be difficult to draw the biggest players to the club even though they can afford them.

If they do get champions league football next season then I expect City to be right in the running for the title, they will buy some big names for big money and will have a massively deep squad to choose from, similar to Real etc.

Oh, and if they do get champions league football by finishing fourth, Jose Mourinho will be manager next season, which will only help their cause to win the league.

You know your football

Its scary for us, and thats why I'm posting this with eyes glued to the Arsenal match..
I don't think I could cope with a bunch of gloating city fans hahaa

who would you buy if you were United considering the financial aspect that may become a problem in the summer?

Depends if Rooney goes or stays, if he stays we wont have much to spend, if he goes (and we can spend what we get for him) then we will need a direct replacement as I dont think berbatov would be able to cut it and we dont have anyone else who could fill the spot well enough.

Be nice to get Ronaldo back...

i think we should swoop for the valencia duo, silva and villa, Silva has sublime talent, a paul scholes heir in my opinion. that is the type of player we so desperately need. we lack a genius. Man Utd have a legacy of delightfully gifted cretors, from cantona to charlton to Robson. Silva, to me, is the best (available) player to forfill that role. and with villa and rooney, we'd boast a scintillating strike force, capable of scoring against any team. On the plus side, nani. he has finally come good, delightful chip earlier.

Nani was exciting to watch. Which is good because I swear sometimes he reminds me of Ronaldo
I saw him break away with two playeys with him the other week.. Almost identical. The chip.

Villa is immense. would be nice.
I just want Berbatov to start scoring..
I feel it for him now lol
So close today..

if A.C milan offer the reported £20m i would literally bite my own hand of to get that deal through, cut our loses and put it towards a player who wants to wear the legendary shirt of Man utd.

My mean that on the level of the game, not money.
I hate the fact that Man City have better strikers (bar Rooney) than Man U.

and none of this answers the question, who else would you have in your United squad?

Villa
Silva

not, Huntelaar, benzema or aguero, reason, they have turned down united before. no one does that and joins later. i'd just like to see them, and signings to accomadate departures. maybe a CB. dont know any of the top though.
