Exclamation Sir Alex Ferguson: Ready to quit?

"I can see him doing this year and next and then that could be it for him," claimed Ferguson Jr, one of the few folks in a position to take an enlightened stab at when the person who took over at Old Trafford twenty-two years back will eventually call it a day.
Ferguson himself has cancelled one retirement date, which was originally prepared for the end of the 2001-02 season, and passed the standard retirement age of sixty five 2 years back. Since that time he has stubbornly declined to explain his intentions and has fluctuated from asserting he has "many years" left to insisting that he won't work outside the age of 70.
"His health is fine and he is building a new team. If they win [the league] this year, then they catch Liverpool re league titles won and that may be in his mind." However, he added : "I don't think Pa will wait for me before he retires. There is no guarantee I will get to the Premier League."

In the meantime , AIG'S superb 15,000,000 payment to Manchester United is increasingly coming under scrutiny in the U.
S. Among growing political pressure for the cash not to be paid from Fed bail-out cash. The provisions of AIG's four-year agreement with United, which is scheduled to finish at the end of next season, are being analyzed and there were calls for the deal to be dumped with immediate effect.

And now i come with this big question...

Who will replace Sir Alex??

Because he has claimed to be retiring once before, this question has been hotly debated for the last couple of years. Most of the names thrown in are all ex Man Utd players that earned their trade under Ferguson. I think that one that is not menitioned enough is Steve Bruce. I think he has done well at the clubs he has managed and has proven he can wheal and deal in the transfer market by bringing in players like Wilson Palacios and Amr Zaki to the Premier League. The question remains whether he is good enough tactically to be the manager.

People seem to think that Roy Keane, Mark Hughes and Paul Ince are ruled out due to their failure to reach the potential they should with their current and ex clubs as managers. I think Darren Ferguson would be a good optio. However, I wonder if he won't have the respect from the players...they might think he just got the job due to sentiment.

My choice...Steve Bruce

No one can replace Ferguson. You just have to hope that the predecessor will be given the time at Old Trafford like Fergie was.

I think Jose Mourinho is the Ideal Replacement for SAF..

but i hope he stays for one more season... But if he wins the champions league this season he'll leave that's for sure...

Sir Alex will not be quitting the head coach job at Manchester United for now. That team has a lot more winning to do and they still have there core set of players. Sir Alex has many more tittle to win before he resigns from Manchester United.
