Liverpool’s only significant move in this transfer market was in the left-back position. Roy Hodgson raided his old club Fulham for Paul Konchesky while letting Emiliano Insua join Galatasary on season long loan deal with an option to buy the player next summer. It remains to be seen what the Anfield faithful will make of the switch of their exciting young left back for a 29 year old former West Ham player who has never reached the top of the game in his career.

Liverpool’s Dirk Kuyt could be on his way to Serie A, after his agent confirmed there had been “concrete interest” in the player from Inter Milan. Rafa Benitez brought Kuyt to Liverpool from Feyenoord in 2006 is keen to take the player with him to new club Inter as they look to justify their favourites tag with Italian Serie A odds.

Bellamy 'could stay at Cardiff City'

Craig Bellamy could end his career at Cardiff City, according to one of his former team-mates.

The Manchester City man moved to his home-town club on loan last week and capped his first start with a cracking goal in a 4-0 win.

Now Robbie Savage, who played alongside Bellamy for Wales, has claimed the former Newcastle United man may stay put for years to come because of how happy he looks.

Having joined Liverpool for what may amount to an eventual fee of £5 million, it is arguable that Danny Wilson, the Scottish Young Player of the Year last season, may well have made a poor decision in choosing to join the Anfield outfit.
